How To Be Creative
Have you ever asked yourself how to be creative? Well, I’m here to tell you just how you can do that. The easiest way to be creative in your life is simply just to be creative. Everyone has the ability to be a creative person. Look at any four-year-old and you can see it’s true. A child doesn’t sit there saying they aren’t creative nor do they ask anyone if they are creative. They just create. No permission necessary.
It’s unfortunate that as we get older things like self-doubt and poor confidence begin to soak into our souls and we begin to question ourselves. We begin to believe that we are unworthy and untalented. That there is someone else out there that is more talented and more deserving of being called a creative. Even the most creative people have had moments where they question their abilities.
That’s why I’m here to tell you that you are creative. You have the abilities necessary to be a creative person. In fact, you’ve always had those abilities. They haven’t gone anywhere as they live within you. The problem is not that you are not creative. The problem stems from listening to that inner voice that makes you question your skills and your abilities. They key to quieting that inner voice is just to start believing that you have the abilities necessary to create wonderful things. If you need permission to start living a more creative life, I am here to give you that permission. Start creating today.
Maybe you feel like you don’t have the time or skills needed.
Maybe you are overwhelmed with all the options out there to being more creative.
That’s okay. It’s important to acknowledge your fears. Even embrace those fears. Just don’t let those fears hold you back from creating a creative life. Take a few minutes to write down all the fears that come to mind when you think of being a creative person. Go ahead and do that right now, I’ll wait.
Did you write down all of the things that are holding you back? Good. We can let our fears come along with us on our journey to creativity. They are what helps to make us stronger and can inspire us to push harder. If we accept our fears as real things, we can take away the power they have over us. We can allow our fears to help us grow and push us towards our goals of being creative.
Besides just facing our fears and accepting the fact that we are creative, we need to put our creativity to work. We need to practice daily in order to harness our skills. If we practice using creativity often, then eventually it will become second nature. With enough daily practice, we won’t even think about being creative, we will just be. This goes for any skill you want to learn, why would creativity be any different?
